Submissions closed 31 January and an arts specialist panel selected the finalists. The judges were looking for artistic competency, technical expertise, and that indefinable quality that makes an artwork captivating to the viewer.

Vote on-line for your favourite artwork as part of the Wheeler Campbell Emerging Art Awards. The 22 finalists in the Wheeler Campbell Emerging Art Awards are waiting with anticipation as on-line voting began on Waitangi Day.

"It was great to see artists getting behind the Awards and it has highlighted the diverse creative talent in this country. Tying the arts and business together has become a goal of ours, and we see the Emerging Art Awards as an opportunity to innovatively support emerging artists and our local community," says Rob Borgers.

The winners will be announced at an Awards Evening held in Wellington on 28 February. The Awards will be attended by Wheeler Campbell clients and candidates, and finalist artists. The artworks will be for sale on the night with 70% going to the artist and 30% to an artist-nominated charity.
