Highly regarded New Zealand artist Denis O'Connor is celebrating 40 years living on Waiheke Island.
To acknowledge this the Waiheke Community Art Gallery invited Denis to exhibit some specific sculptural works that reflect how this region pervades his conceptual thinking and art practice. Highly regarded New Zealand artist Denis O'Connor is celebrating 40 years living on Waiheke Island.
To acknowledge this the Waiheke Community Art Gallery invited Denis to exhibit some specific sculptural works that reflect how this region pervades his conceptual thinking and art practice.Denis in turn invited a handful of respected colleagues who spent time on Waiheke during the 1970's to exhibit with him. The gallery is honoured to have distinguished New Zealand artists Jan Nigro, Bronwynne Cornish, Denys Watkins and Julia Morison exhibiting this summer.
The exhibition opens on Friday 19th December at 6pm and continues until Monday 19th February. Entry is free, and the gallery is open 7 days from 10am-4pm.
