A new exhibition by eight up and coming Auckland artists in April will get people talking.

Conversations opens at the Aotea Gallery, Level 4, Aotea Centre, THE EDGE ® on Tuesday 18th April and runs to Friday 5th May. The exhibition is presented as part of THE EDGE ® Public Programmes and entry is free to the public.

One of the artists exhibiting, photographer, Brenda Railey said the theme for the exhibition stemmed - appropriately enough - from the very first conversation the artists had about it.A new exhibition by eight up and coming Auckland artists in April will get people talking.

One of the artists exhibiting, photographer, Brenda Railey said the theme for the exhibition stemmed - appropriately enough - from the very first conversation the artists had about it.

"The exhibition reflects what a big part of our lives conversations can be," said Ms Railey. "This can include conversations with ourselves, our families, our friends or between local, national and international communities. The work in this exhibition shows how such conversations inspire the way in which we each respond artistically."

David Copisarow - painter (West Auckland)
Misty Lynn - photographer (Titirangi)
Brenda Railey - photographer (Waterview)
Samantha Lissette - sculptor (Laingholm)
Fa'amele Etuale - Pacific themed artist (South Auckland)
Mary Webster - textile artist (Laingholm)
Louise Dentice - crafts/mixed media (Mt Eden)

Conversations is one of numerous exhibitions of work by up and coming artists supported by
THE EDGE ® Public Programmes. The works exhibited will be available to buy.

The Aotea Gallery is open Mon-Fri 9am to 5pm and weekends 10am to 4pm.
