The final will be held at the Temple on Saturday 27th September at 8pm and with the impending closure of the Temple will be the last time the York Street Studios Acid Test will be held at the legendary Queen Street venue, although owner Karen q Temple says that it is likely she will continue to produce the event in the future.

With over $15,000 worth of prizes, the competition is a fantastic chance for musicians to not only take advantage of these prizes, but also; the exposure, industry networking, career development and other great opportunities this competition affords.

Unique for music competitions because only original material is permitted, any genre and lineup is welcome and whilst there is a heavy focus on performance and songwriting, there is also a strong emphasis on professionalism, marketing and promotion, business planning, industry knowledge and commercial radio potential.
