The Next Step: Writing the Novel
Sarah Quigley

This course is designed for writers already reasonably experienced in writing short fiction who wish to write a full-length novel. Mornings will consist of workshop exercises; we'll discuss the elements that make up a novel (plot, characterisation, setting and narrative voice) and practise with shorter fiction as a template for novel writing. Afternoons will be set aside for work on novels already begun, or for making a start on one. Participants should be self-starters, able to work both on their own and in groups.

One individual session will be scheduled for each student.

12 - 16 January
Monday - Friday 9.30am - 4.30pm
