Write4Gold comes to Aotearoa for the first time taking over K Rd on Saturday 27th May. The event is a free, all-ages, all-day public painting demonstration and concert, resembling a community fair more than a b-boy riot. The daytime is to be followed by a bodyrockin' ticketed afterparty, showcasing local hip-hop music, dance and art.
This international graffiti competition offers crews of artists the opportunity to put their skills to the test, with three judges travelling here from all over the world especially for the event. Set to be one of Auckland's largest urban events there will be fun and entertainment all down the street from 10am - 6pm. Registrations are now closed and we pleased to announce eight crews entering from Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch for this exciting global event. The winning crew will be flown to Germany to compete in the world finals in August thanks to our presenting sponsor Media Design School. One of the sponsors of the finals in Germany is the renowned Goethe Institute.

Events on the day include:

Eight custom built walls for registered crews: TMD, RTR, RFC, SSS (Wellington), USP, TDU, BTB (Christchurch) and GBAK.

One wall designated for our international judges (Akut, Omsk and Opak) to paint over the course of the day.

A stencil and poster wall directed by leading street artist SP23 and guests.

Three DJ stations located throughout the street with DJ's spinning tunes all day long, including Manuel Bundy, Omega B, Nick D, Dubhead, Penfold, Mouli, Plantmaster Grant, Phaze, Ayesha, Thugg Fresh and D Form, CXL and Manchoo.
