In last week's episode of local drama The Insiders Guide to Happiness (TV2, 9.30pm), a PA wondered about the obsessive behaviour of her ex-boss. "Is that weird or is that creative?" she asked.
The question applies equally to the show, which veers between the outlandish and the everyday, but always with an intriguingly skewed eye on the world inhabited by its criss-crossing group of eight characters.

The International Institute of Modern Letters kicks off its popular Writers on Fridays series for 2004 with an insider's guide to The Insiders Guide to Happiness, currently screening on Thursday nights on TV2 and recently named by Listener critic Diana Wichtel as one of the three 'must watch' series on television, along with The Sopranos and State of Play.
The series is the brainchild of 2003 IIML Scriptwriting MA graduate Peter Cox, who joins co-writer Paula Boock and Gibson Group producer Donna Malane to discuss the ins and outs of getting this quirky series on screen. The panel will be chaired by Ken Duncum, who is Michael Hirschfeld Director of Scriptwritng at the IIML.
All Writers on Fridays sessions are open to the public and free of charge. No booking or rsvp required.
