A new exhibition space has opened in Palmerston North. Based in the Square Edge Arts Centre, The Vault will showcase work by emerging artists as well as new work by established artists.

Based in the Square Edge Arts Centre, The Vault will showcase work by emerging artists as well as new work by established artists.The Vault's inaugral exhibition - Urban Stills: signs from the paths I walk by David Lupton - runs from 7 September until 3 October.

The photographs were taken with a cellphone and show urban details from Lupton's morning walks. The images are not simply a sign of the frailty of the medium, but evidence of the frailty of urban societies.
