Niall describes the process by which he came to this publication:

"'The Trekka Dynasty' started life as a two-part radio documentary for National Radio in 2000. Later, after being contacted by artist Michael Stevenson, who had begun work on what would become the Venice Biennale 2003 project 'This is the Trekka', I decided to start work on what had previously been a vague idea to tell the story in written form."
