On the 26th of January, under the blazing sun we gathered on the lawn outside the building that was to be our new school. To mark the occasion we had a powhiri to welcome the new and returning students with the help and guidance of Charles Noanoa and Art Noanoa from Te Aitanga au Hauiti.On the 26th of January, under the blazing sun we gathered on the lawn outside the building that was to be our new school. To mark the occasion we had a powhiri to welcome the new and returning students with the help and guidance of Charles Noanoa and Art Noanoa from Te Aitanga au Hauiti.Some were apprehensive about moving from the historic and grand Erskine building in Island Bay (Wellington), but the Taita campus has a charming setting and it offers us an opportunity for a new beginning. The site used to be the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) and they have spent time establishing gardens with some very rare, native trees and large rolling lawns.

Since The Learning Connexion has moved in, the buildings have been transformed with a huge mural, purpose built art studios and the impressive Hot Arts facility for working in 3D.

The move has been smooth, although we are still setting up spaces, students and staff are excited about the change and there is a quiet buzz in the air.
