The Field Creative Launch to the Public

The aim of The Field Creative is to foster the arts, diversity and creative thinking. The Field Creative will have two main focuses - The Creative Exchange and The Creative Retreat. The Creative Exchange aims to be a facilitation service, to connect artists to their public. The Creative Retreat (right) will be a physical location outside of Auckland where artists and musicians can go to for a stay of up to two weeks in order to create, write, record, paint - without the distractions of everyday life.

We anticipate to be established as a charitable trust soon in order for these aims to be realised. Our motives are not to seek profit, are of value to the community, and are providing the students involved with good practical skills that can be transferred to employment upon graduation.

August 27th is the day we invite the public, family and friends to participate in a celebration of the arts, and to find out what The Field Creative is all about. We are organizing an extraordinary array of creative talent for the day, and entry for both events is completely free to the public.

Expect a dynamic range of art to enjoy and potentially purchase! Genres will range from traditional painting to sculpture, pottery, carving, digital media, and more. Some artist's work will be for sale, and there will be a live painting demonstration also. We have limited spaces left for artists from the less conventional genres, please visit the public launch section on our website www.thefieldcreative.org to register.

Original Music Festival (R18) Saturday, Aug 27th 7pm-1am

With bands to dance to upstairs, and theatre style music such as jazz and folk in the downstairs amphitheatre, there really is something for everyone. From rock, tribal, punk, Hip Hop, Trance, to Jazz, Folk, and Acoustic sets we have it all covered. There will be a bar and snacks available.
