The Expanding Documentary Conference is pleased to associated with the DOCNZ festival- New Zealand's first major international festival solely dedicated to documentary. As a means of encouraging a cross-fertilization between the two, the Conference has strategically been scheduled to occur between the Auckland and Wellington seasons of DOCNZ - with visiting filmmakers able to attend both events. The Expanding Documentary Conference is pleased to associated with the DOCNZ festival- New Zealand's first major international festival solely dedicated to documentary. As a means of encouraging a cross-fertilization between the two, the Conference has strategically been scheduled to occur between the Auckland and Wellington seasons of DOCNZ - with visiting filmmakers able to attend both events.As a point of difference, the Festival will be targeted towards a general audience while the Conference (which is more of a workshop environment) will cater for an audience of academics, students, documentary filmmakers, photographers, those working with ideas of documentary in an experimental manner, and anyone with an interest in engaging with the creative processes of documentary.
