[too bad these had to be censored for daytime TV!]Ed Davis - "Hear the People was my most ambitious project to date - a lot of prison-escape gags to fit into 4 minutes - and a lot of physical theatre and
mime-acting / goofing around required from the band - the shoot was lots of fun and games - especially them all pretending to be hosed down in the shower ".

Wellington-based Davis is no stranger to these awards, also bagging the top prize in 2003 for Gramsci's Don't featuring Anika Moa, although this
year's competition attracted a record number of entries - 122 in total.

Davis collaborated with a video-game maker friend in TOKYO (Anthony Flack = www.squashysoftware.com) - to create the pseudo-3d cartoon prison
environments.

Auckland band The Exiles are a wild bunch of musicians and songwriters on a
mission to mash up urban & classical. The band comprises acclaimed
songwriter Sean Sturm, (ex-Nixons and Eye TV), classical violinist Mahuia
Bridgman-Cooper, Tosh Graham (ex-Semi Lemon Cola and Propellor), Grahame
Cope (Rodger Fox, ex Che Fu's Krates) and Colin Stanley (Dean Chandler,
Mo'Reece)
