Chaired by Tommy Honey (Director of The New Zealand Film & Television School) with Dorita Hannah (co-ordinator of DisPlay: remembering a performance landscape); Miranda Harcourt (Head of Actor Programme, Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School) and Andrew Foster, (freelance designer, director, actor and principal of Trouble Theatre Company).

On the occasion of the exhibition DisPlay: remembering a performance landscape at the Michael Hirschfeld Gallery, join Dorita Hannah, Miranda
Harcourt, Andrew Foster and Tommy Honey as they discuss the designer as 'provocateur'.

Using DisPlay as a starting point for a lively discussion, the panelists will comment on the role of the designer in theatrical events and performance, questioning the relationship between designer and director;
designer and spectator; designer and actor. In doing so, they will also examine the nature of collaboration across the disciplines of the performing arts, the visual arts and architecture.

DisPlay: remembering a performance landscape has developed from Dorita Hannah, Sven Mehzoud and Lee Gibson's award-winning project The Heart of PQ, staged as part of the 2003 Prague Quadrennial.   DisPlay: remembering a performance landscape is the Michael Hirschfeld Gallery's contribution to the Visual Arts Programme of the 2004 New Zealand International Arts Festival.

The exhibition is on at City Gallery Wellington's Michael Hirschfeld Gallery until 18 April 2004.
