Survey of the entire group of Auckland applied arts graduates (in 1999) across all relevant tertiary campuses (to scope the employment plans and needs of tertiary graduates from major arts courses)
Analysis of WINZ employment register and identification and positioning of arts / creative skilled individuals including job titles, length of unemployment, employment patterns, gaps and needs
Development of strategy to map the creative industries in Auckland including extensive consultation with arts / creative practitioners
Establishment and maintenance of Arts Work Navigator, a weekly email bulletin of work and income opportunities in the arts / creative industries sectors sent throughout New Zealand
Establishment and maintenance of New 8, a fortnightly email bulletin outlining professional development opportunities that support people either generating or requiring work and income opportunities in the arts / creative industry sectors; distributed nationally and free of charge
Full scoping / design and partial build of an interactive portal website, the big idea (accessible in English and Te Reo) to provide a wide range of resources, connectivity, networking and professional development to practitioners, producers and employers in the arts / creative industry sectors and those sectors wanting to engage with arts / creative expertise
Arts employment hui for Maori arts and cultural workers in Auckland
Maori participation and communication strategy to ensure relevance to and take-up of the big idea by Maori arts / cultural practitioners and organisations (currently underway)
Twelve-month professional development programme (New Space Programme) for 20 long-term unemployed arts / creative practitioners registered with WINZ in Auckland Central (currently underway with two more programmes commencing in February and April 2002)
Analysis of production resources requirements (to assist arts / creative practitioners with the production of portfolios, show-reels and other promotional material).
