Among those celebrating Oscar glory when Lord of the Rings: the Return of the King won a clean sweep in 2004 was Aucklander - Grey Lynn, to be more precise - Grant Major, who won for Art Direction. This week, he is nominated again for his work on King Kong.

A meticulous craftsman ("in this work you have to be"), he has nearly 30 years work on which to draw.
