Suture - A stitching together - A seam of flesh
Suture places the corporeal body- the way that it can be worn, and the way that it can be recreated through what it wears, at its centre. This collaborative performance event draws its material from the clothing designs of Rachelle Pedersen whose unique, dynamic clothing suspends itself between the experimental, conceptual focus of fine art and the intimacy of clothing.

Suture will bring the awesome visual elements of Pedersen's art into the human canvas of dance and theatre. With a score which blends electronica with live instrumentation by Claire Cowan, Suture presents a visceral and moving performance experience. Alys Longley navigates this performance through the terrains of theatre, dance, fashion event, and poetic writing in a creative process inspired by and in collaboration with costuming and sound elements, three dancers and the onstage musicians.
