We are a not for profit organisation with the vision to accelerate the uptake of sustainable living in a holistic sense. One of the six living themes of the Festival is called CREATE, which is specifically about the arts. Federation Square is an important vehicle to reach our targeted mainstream audience and for sustainability to be integrated into the context of cultural Australia. We are dedicated to the vision, along side Federation Square Management, to integrate the whole precinct in the festival activities over the weekend. Sustainability is about working together and creating long-term relationships within community, business and government.
Plans for the Festival's "CREATE" theme this year will extend from the main stage down to the river bank. The program will explore a range of exhibitions, forums and performance including, humanity, identity, diversity and community tradition. Like last year artists from around Australia will submit their work within these areas. (see below the introduction to how artists can submit their work) Its is my hope that we have visual artists, musicians, dance, film makers, fashion designers, multi-media artists and performance artists across the site from all over Australia and the regional including NZ.
With 40,000 people attending last years event and an expected 60,000 this year, we want the festival visitors to recognise both historical and contemporary art and artistic practice is, and continues to be, an effective vehicle to express and strengthen a healthy, vibrant culture and community.
Your promotion of the Festival program would bring the audience closer to this essential aspect of sustainability, and contribute to our vision for the arts.
