Is this the beginning of a "brand New Zealand" dance?
When New Zealand dancers travel overseas, chances are they will take a bit of Kiwi landscape with them. It can be as literal as the Southland peat that Raewyn Hill wedges her ankles in. Or it may be the giant river stones used onstage by Black Grace. Or images of an Auckland volcanic crater from Shona McCullagh's dance film Fly.
