The work of six artists from around New Zealand is featured in Some Kind of Fact, Some Kind of Fiction, at The Engine Room until 4 August.The work of six artists from around New Zealand is featured in Some Kind of Fact, Some Kind of Fiction, at The Engine Room until 4 August.Characterised by an exploration and rupturing of history, science, myth, and the mystical, the works ask us to re-think the potentials of the materials, objects, architecture and systems that surround us.
As an accumulation of invention, developments, discoveries and constructions, they seek to confuse and tell tales as much as to instruct.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a small publication with new writing by Amy Howden-Chapman and Tahi Moore and a page work by G. Bridle.
Featured artists: Ryan Chadfield, Regan Gentry, Simon Lawrence, Rachel O'Neill, Susie Pratt, Hamish Palmer. Curated by Marnie Slater.
