Acclaimed author and award-winning podcaster Tee Morris, the writer behind the #1 title Podcasting for Dummies and creator of the podcast novel, brings his social media strategies and initiatives to New Zealand.
Starting his “Getting Social” tour at New Zealand’s Science Fiction and Fantasy Convention, Conscription, in Auckland, Tee will be taking his various seminars and workshops to the Tararua District Library in Dannevirke, LIANZA in Wellington, and the Te Papa Museum, also in Wellington.
An accomplished public speaker and instructor, Tee has been immersed in Social Media since the beginning of podcasting. “Social Media has the potential of increasing your presence, both from a commercial and from a personal perspective, on the global stage. I travel across the United States giving talks and workshops on what this user-generated content can do for you and your business. Bringing my talks to New Zealand, I am very excited about the possibilities.”
The demand has been high for Tee’s experitse as his Social Media Mainline workshop in Wellington sold out three days after posting it on the LIANZA website. But while it may seem like Tee will be working for a good portion of his stay, he does have some fun planned. “My daughter is a huge fan of Jane and the Dragon so I have to make a trip to the WETA Workshop; and I have plans to attend my first rugby match, an All-Blacks game on the South Island. Nothing like watching a haka in the bitter cold after a series of seminars.”
Tee Morris earned the distinction of “the world's first podcast novelist” when he began podcasting Morevi: The Chronicles of Rafe & Askana, leading the way for other authors like Scott Sigler, J.C. Hutchins, New York Times bestseller Tracy Hickman, and New Zealand’s own Philippa Ballantine to tap into the potential of podcasting their works. He was then called on by Wiley Publishing to pen Podcasting for Dummies, its success leading to the equally-successful follow-up, Expert Podcasting Practices for Dummies. He is now working on his next two titles in Social Media, All a Twitter, from Que Publishing and Teach Yourself Twitter in Ten Minutes from Sams Publishing, both scheduled for a Summer 2009 release. When he is not writing, blogging, or podcasting on the subject of Social Media, Tee gives seminars on the potential of Social Media initiatives, his past venues including The Library of Congress, Book Expo America, the Washington DC Tech Expo, and the New Media Expo.
