On June 10 at Eon Design Centre we'd like to share our Simple Vision with you.

Simple Vision has been developed with a focus on sustainable product design. This continually growing range of functional furniture has been created by Locus Research, a Tauranga based design company with a focus on sustainable design and development. On June 10 at Eon Design Centre we'd like to share our Simple Vision with you.

Simple Vision has been developed with a focus on sustainable product design. This continually growing range of functional furniture has been created by Locus Research, a Tauranga based design company with a focus on sustainable design and development. It has been manufactured in NZ from sustainable NZ materials. Embedded in the concept is a belief in the value that can be created by combining our talent, raw materials, and good old-fashioned kiwi ingenuity.

The range, currently comprised of seven pieces, is manufactured from a variety of locally sourced materials, including natural fabrics, stainless steel, ceramics, Green Seal solidwood and thermally treated timber. Green Seal and thermally modified timber, manufactured and commercialised by Carter Holt Harvey, originate from radiata pine grown in sustainably managed NZ plantation forests. Using heat and naturally-occurring materials, the timber is processed to give it the properties of a hardwood.

Green Seal and thermally modified timber were chosen for their sustainability, quality, warmth and aesthetic attributes.

Simple Vision showcases how effectively we can add value to our raw resources, to produce world class products. It is also just one of the possibilities for NZ's sustainable resources.

To view Simple Vision, please join us at Eon Design Centre on June 10 at 7pm, when Dame Cheryll Sotheran will open the exhibition. The show will be open to the public fom June 10 through to July 10 2004.
