Inspiring goals, they’re a bit like glasses or specs really. We may know that we need them, but if we are not sure what we want and don’t know what will suit us, how do we make ourselves set and get them?

In her Generator article Creative Goal Setting Lorraine Blackley tells us why we need inspiring goals (and turns out it is a bit like needing glasses!) She says that we each need goals to see and define what we’re aiming for because “it’s what you want in life that draws you through it”.

It’s not always that easy setting effective and inspiring goals. How do you know if they are the right ones for you and most importantly whether you’ll actually see them through to fruition? Lorraine says to get started and have the best chance of realising your goals, you need to make sure that you really desire them, and you need to make them SMART.

As a creative person in business, occasional glasses wearer, and someone that has set and achieved many of her personal goals, Lorraine Blackley will be on hand later this month to answer your questions about 'Setting Inspiring Goals'.

And we’ll be hearing from some creative people about how setting goals helped them achieve their desires. Watch this space!

We’ve also assembled for you a range of online resources, some practical and many inspirational, to help you achieve clarity around setting and getting you what you really, really want in your creative life and work.
