Sarah Kernohan and Gareth Lichty are the first Canadian artists to show at Platform01. They consider themselves explorers, taking in aspects of the New Zealand environment and fashioning it into something new; from one colony to another. They are both artists from Toronto who are new to the Hamilton artistic community. Dealing with sculpture and drawing, their exhibition, Re-Print, is a combination of both of their practices meeting together for the first time.

Dealing with themes based on construction, landscape, recycling materials, image transfer, contrast between structural and organic form and purpose of material their work looks at the purpose and form of traditional structure and adapts to reflect their reactions to these constructions.

Gareth has brought the units for his sculptures in two suitcases and will be constructing forms based on Sarah's versions of topographical maps.

Re-Print is proudly sponsored by Creative New Zealand's creative communities scheme.
