Angels, the journey between Earth and Heaven, and the struggle of life in between, are recurrent themes for choreographer Raewyn Hill. Her new solo dance theatre work, We Are Gathered Here Today, addressed loss directly, examining death and grief in a series of metaphors. And although sombre, the work's intensity and abstraction freed it from mawkish sentiment.
