The Institute of Modern Art (IMA) is recognised as a leading contemporary Australian visual arts organisation. It specialises in the production and presentation of contemporary arts exhibitions, publications, performances, screenings, residencies and public programs in Australia and is committed to experimentation and artistic development.The current staff numbers six, including a Deputy Director (Programming), General Manager, Exhibitions Officer, Publications Officer and Administrative Assistant/Publicist, plus contracted casual staff. The next Director of the IMA will lead the organisation through a crucial period of growth and of consolidation in respect of its artistic program.

The IMA now requires the services of a dynamic, energetic and committed individual to develop a fresh and distinctive artistic vision for the IMA in the next phase of its development, and to communicate that vision to Australian and international arts communities and audiences.
