Plimmerton School is holding its second art auction in Plimmerton School Hall on Friday 31 August.

In 2006 more than $12,000 of art was sold in just a few hours and it raised over $5000 for the school hall extension. Those who attended last year's event were amazed at the quality of work for sale and also what a truly entertaining evening it turned out to be.Plimmerton School is holding its second art auction in Plimmerton School Hall on Friday 31 August.

In 2006 more than $12,000 of art was sold in just a few hours and it raised over $5000 for the school hall extension. Those who attended last year's event were amazed at the quality of work for sale and also what a truly entertaining evening it turned out to be.This year is sure to be even more successful with the Mayor of Wellington, Kerry Prendergast, and the Mayor of Porirua, Jenny Brash, kindly donating signed pieces of their own creation.

There are also four fantastic original cartoons by well-known NZ cartoonist Trace Hodgson, as well as more than a hundred pieces of beautiful original art from artists from all over New Zealand.

The doors open at 6.00pm, when all works can be viewed and works 'for sale' can be purchased. The auction starts at 7.30pm where 50 select pieces will go under the hammer. There is an entry fee of $10 which includes delicious nibbles, wine and a catalogue.
