"We are delighted to be releasing Eagle Vs Shark in cinemas in the UK - the British public love to discover new talent and Taika is certainly talented. He has crafted a film that is truly original and hilarious. We're going to have lots of fun working on it," said Danny Perkins, Head of Distribution for Optimum.

Eagle Vs Shark is a wry comedy that chronicles the romance of two awkward misfits. It features Loren Horsley and comedian Jemaine Clement in the lead roles as Lily and Jarrod.

Says Waititi: "I am thrilled that the film will be shown in Europe. The continuing sales and distribution of this film ensures I will never have to work again...this month."
