On 14 November, 16 inner city Christchurch art galleries will open from 5pm-8pm, providing the public a rare opportunity to see more than 20 exhibitions in a single evening.

This year's Art Trek includes contemporary jewellery and glasswork, historical survey shows, emerging artists, sculpture by senior New Zealand artists, contemporary painting, installations and Pacific art.On 14 November, 16 inner city Christchurch art galleries will open from 5pm-8pm, providing the public a rare opportunity to see more than 20 exhibitions in a single evening.

This year's Art Trek includes contemporary jewellery and glasswork, historical survey shows, emerging artists, sculpture by senior New Zealand artists, contemporary painting, installations and Pacific art.The Christchurch Art Gallery will act as the 'hub' or information centre with the Friends of the Gallery catering and providing the opportunity to go in a draw for prizes, as well as music from Brian and Maryrose Crook in the foyer, finishing the evening's entertainment.

Art Trek offers a unique social arts experience for those who are not regular gallery visitors, as well as those who are more familiar with the city's galleries.

When: Wednesday 14 November 5pm-8pm
Where: Buses will leave every 30 minutes from 5pm to 8pm from outside the Christchurch Art Gallery on the corner of Montreal and Gloucester Street travelling to Aliceinvideoland on High Street and Tuam Street.
Cost: No charge. Free bus.
