Award-winning cartoonist and illustrator Anna Crichton and photographer Jocelyn Carlin are showing their work together for the first time at a one-day exhibition on 2 December.

Crichton and Carlin have been creative cohorts since their student days in the seventies. "Since those early days we have been on our career and creative adventures individually. I guess this is a natural artistic meeting point," says Carlin.Crichton is a well-known contributor of satirical illustrations and cartoons for popular New Zealand publications, and is a regular contributor to Time, The Bulletin, has worked for the New York Times, The Wall St Journal and is this year's recipient of the prestigious Qantas Media Editorial Artist of the Year Award.

Also in this exhibition, globetrotting features photojournalist Jocelyn Carlin reveals a more conceptual side to her work in witty, metaphorical reflections on humanity; whereas her storytelling, although remaining pictorial and in series, is often more direct in approaching the human condition.

She's recently covered news events in New Zealand, Tuvalu, Tonga, Fiji, Samoa, and Papua New Guinea in the gathering of a broad range of material from the greater Pacific region for a global audience; a recent of many local and international was to portray Sir Ian McKellen for the New York Times.

Crichton is selling her published original pen and ink illustrations; Carlin her limited edition fine art photographs. All works exhibited are for sale, no electronic payment available on the day.
