Rodney based artists Garry Currin, his partner Barbara Cope and daughter Lisa Currin are collaborating on a show based around the idea of transitory existence in a fragile and elemental landscape.

The exhibition is at A Fine Line Gallery in Matakana from October 11 until November 2.Garry Currin will be showing a series from his iconic, large oil on canvas landscapes to some smaller framed works on board, in a furher exploration of the OCCUPIED TERRITORY theme from his show at milford Galleries Auckland*, earlier in the year.

Lisa Currin graduated from Hungry Creek Art School in 2001 [4th Year Honours/Painting] and continues her personal and individual approach to 'found objects' with two distinctive, painted pieces which examine the subject in the environmental context of art and recycling.

Barbara Cope has a background in Graphic Art and Film and Television makeup. Over the past four years she has exhibited her mixed media/photographic works at Mataakana Pictures, Satellite Gallery, Northart and the Depot. Her works here question the alien nature of human intervention in the coastal landscape of the area around her home on the Takatu Peninsula.
