Nemesis Game, was shot in Toronto (with post production in London) and is the first feature co-production in a decade between Canada and New Zealand. It represents the start of a new drive to create a production synergy between the two Commonwealth countries. During production of the film, a Canadian producers' delegation visited New Zealand, and a reciprocal delegation from New Zealand visited Canada.

Nemesis Game, was initiated in New Zealand by two young first-time film-makers, producer Matthew Metcalfe and writer/director Jesse Warn of Method Filmed Entertainment. After developing their film in New Zealand, with finance from the NZ Film Commission, the pair successfully brought in US studio, Lions Gate Entertainment (Monsters Ball, Confidence) and were later joined by Canadian producer Suzanne Berger.

Their achievement in raising the NZ$6million budget earned Method a spot in NBR's 2002 list of the top five arts businesses in New Zealand.
The film later became a tripartite co-production when UK actors Adrian Paul (The Highlander) and Ian McShane (Sexy Beast, Lovejoy) joined the cast, which is headed by Carly Pope (Popular) with Rena Owen ( Once were Warriors ) and Brendan Fehr ( Roswell).

Executive producers are Chris Brown, Steve Hoban, Noah Segal and Alex Brown, and the production entities are Method Filmed Entertainment, Upstart Pictures and Studio Eight Productions.

NEMESIS GAME will be released in New Zealand in October 2003.
