The Music Managers' Forum celebrated a year of growth at its annual Awards night last week, attended by managers, artists and industry.

With a membership of more than 100, the following were also acknowledged for exceptional management achievement.

Regional Manager of the Year - North Island

Ingrid Round - Dirty Management - Concord Dawn, State of Mind, Tiki Tane, 48 May, P Money

Regional Manager of the Year - South Island

Flip Grater - Self-managed artist

A special award for Industry Champion was presented to the Music Commission.

The Music Managers' Forum (MMF)

The Music Managers' Forum (MMF) is a national not-for-profit organisation formed in 2003 for music managers, self-managed artists and anyone with an interest in becoming a manager.

The MMF offers professional development and networking opportunities around the country for people to share and learn from the experiences of others, and an avenue through which common problems and areas of concern can be discussed.

There are currently five regional areas for the MMF in Auckland, Canterbury, Otago, Wairarapa and Wellington. The MMF ultimately seeks to improve the managers' capacity to support the careers of the artists they represent.

The MMF New Zealand is part of International Music Managers' Forum (IMMF) , a worldwide community of music managers.

In New Zealand, the MMF has representatives who sit on the board of the NZ Music Industry Commission and the NZ Music Month Committee. MMF Executive Members are also proactive in education through regular guest lecturing at universities, polytechnics and private training establishments.
