NZ International Comedy Festival: Last Laugh

04 Mar 2010
Some call it NZ Comedy’s answer to the Academy Awards, and they’d be right – an awards ceremony l

Last Laughs is a gala ceremony celebrating the performances of the NZ International Comedy Festival 2010 and drawing the season to a close with performances from the 2010 shortlist of Billy T Nominees (that’s the towel).

Last Laughs is a gala ceremony celebrating the performances of the NZ International Comedy Festival 2010 and drawing the season to a close with performances from the 2010 shortlist of Billy T Nominees (that’s the towel).

It also is the event the newly coveted FRED Award (that’s the gumboot) to a former Billy T award winner whose services to New Zealand comedy merit such an honor. On top of this, awards are given out to the best the festival has to offer, including “Best Newcomer”, “Best International Act” and “Spirit Of The Festival”, to name a mere few.

Expect a refined disobedience as Rhys Mathewson, Jarred Fell, Clayton Carrick-Leslie, Vaughan King and TJ McDonald throw the dice one very last time until the judges decide who will take home NZ comedy’s top award.

FRED Award nominees will be announced midway through this year’s programme of events.

Last year’s Last Laugh was another sell out event, so book in advance to avoid complete and utter disappointment and miss out the chance to run shoulders with our comedy comrades one last time.
