Sue Healey may be the lesser known here of the Healey sisters (Theresa Healey is her younger sister) but she has an equally impressive history of achievements. A founding member of Danceworks, Melbourne, Sue performed and choreographed for the company for five years, and then became Artistic Director of Vis-à-Vis Dance Canberra.

During the 90s she created over 30 works for numerous dance companies and theatres, including Victorian Arts Centre and the Aichi Arts Centre, Nagoya Japan. Her work has toured to the UK, USA and Asia and she has been the recipient of the prestigious Australia Council Fellowship in Choreography.

Healey is also an internationally acclaimed dance film-maker and teacher. Her films have screened at many Festivals around the world, with her latest one Niche picking up awards at Reeldance 2002, IMZ Competition Monanco 2002, Cinedans Holland 2003, and nominated for Best Dance Film at the 2002 Ausdance Awards.

Direct from a sell-out season at the Aichi Arts Centre in Japan, Sue created Fine Line Terrain which is the culmination of 18 months collaboration the Niche Series - that has traversed film, solo performance, installation performance and an international commission in Japan.

Fine Line Terrain explores the fragile spaces we inhabit - fine lines separating order from chaos, gravity from levity. This is emotionally charged dance that maps the precariousness of our relationship to the world and to each other.

Sue Healey's dance company comprises five stellar Australian dancers: Victor Bramich, Shona Erskine, Lisa Griffiths, Nelson Reguera Perez and Nalina Wait, plus composer Darrin Verhagen and film artist (ex-Kiwi) Louise Curham.
