The Lumiere Reader, New Zealand's leading film e-zine, has a brand new face, feel and flow.
"It's been over a year since we committed our print issue to the web, and time for a change. In response to our readers, we've redesigned the website with ease of function in mind. Cleaner typography and ayout also features prominently," says Founding Editor Tim Wong. "Film still dominates, but coverage in The Arts Etc.Reader will continue to broaden, embracing literature, music, television, visual/performing arts, and more. With this added tier, the website will now be able to update around five times a week," he adds.
The site is now user-friendly: navigation is seamless, readers can search by keyword, everything is archived and comments can be added to featured articles. Those with RSS browser capability can also receive new content via a syndicated feed.
Film aficionados will delight in The Festival Reader, a new section which offers reports from local and international film festivals. The Telecom NZ International Film Festivals' weblog merges with this, along with other existing festival features and reviews.
Future additions to the site will include an illustration gallery and a renewed links + resources database. Planned editorial includes a NZ International Arts Festival weblog, Big Day Out reports, Cultural Futures symposium coverage and Lumiere's annual Year in Review.
