This month the NEW ZEALAND DESIGN SPACE will be exhibiting in New York.

As in Milan, Italy last year, David Trubridge, Purple South and Simon James, will stage an Interni off-site event, this time alongside ICFF. The exhibition of furniture and lighting, will be at Ray20 Gallery in Tribeca from the 14-17th May, 11am - 7pm.

Image: David Trubridge's new lighting design made in plywood.Chef Brad Farmerie, who specialises in Polynesian inspired cooking, will do his magic with fresh ingredients from New Zealand and two of NZ's top wine labels will show you why this country is becoming more and more famous for its wine.

David Trubridge will be showing a new range of lighting -- never before seen -- made from intricately patterned shapes of thin plywood alongside his more recognisable curved wooden loungers and rocking chairs, which are made both here in New Zealand and in Italy by companies like Cappellini and Boffi. He is also beginning to look at ideas coming out of his recent trip to Antarctica.

In ICFF itself you will also be able to see my kitset Coral lights at the 'designboom' mart where they will be on sale.

Purple South will introduce new designs by Dutch star designer Ed Annink that demonstrate a fantastic fresh approach to food presentation, next to very positive changes in material and construction of the existing range.

Simon James will take his new Satellite outdoor range to the world market along with a new ceramic water jug.

The New Zealand Design Space along with Marcel Wanders and two more designers, was called the "biggest influence of creativity in design" of the entire design week in Milan 2004. Who said so? Gilda Bojardi, the director and Chief Editor of Interni - one of the oldest and most influential design magazines worldwide.
