Three of New Zealand’s leading film and television producers, Philippa Campbell, Fiona Copland and Tim Sanders, are behind Field Theory, a new screen production company with start up investment from the New Zealand Film Commission’s Business Development fund.

Three of New Zealand’s leading film and television producers, Philippa Campbell, Fiona Copland and Tim Sanders, are behind Field Theory, a new screen production company with start up investment from the New Zealand Film Commission’s Business Development fund. The company’s production focus will be high-end film and television for the international market, including both drama and factual screen product.

Independently, the team has produced some of New Zealand’s most critically lauded and commercially successful feature films and television series including Top of the Lake, Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, Rain, Whale Rider, Black Sheep, The Strength of Water, No 2, Perfect Creature and Topless Women Talk About Their Lives.
 
Leading New Zealand distribution executive, Michael Eldred, and renowned Executive Producer and former UK finance executive, Paula Jalfon, are consulting to the company.
 
“We want to work with talented New Zealanders to make high quality work for audiences here and worldwide.” says Field Theory producer Philippa Campbell.

Amongst a number of film and television projects in development, the company has acquired rights to develop the adaptation of Elizabeth Knox’s high concept novel Wake.
