Staple Furniture + Design is keen to get behind emerging NZ design talent by providing young designers with a space to show their concepts and products. And so Staple is very pleased to be hosting an exhibition of wallpaper creations by Liz Maunder (top Visual Art and Design graduate, EIT, 2007). Staple Furniture + Design is keen to get behind emerging NZ design talent by providing young designers with a space to show their concepts and products. And so Staple is very pleased to be hosting an exhibition of wallpaper creations by Liz Maunder (top Visual Art and Design graduate, EIT, 2007).Much of Maunder's work explores patterns of isolation created in contemporary life due to the overload of consumer items - she comments on the way items such as cellphones, iPods, computers and Playstation limit normal interaction within the family unit. On a brighter note, her Epic Tales of Domesticity series (also on show) is a light-hearted portrayal of the contemporary housewife in the act of worship and fear of her household appliances.

Staple Furniture + Design opened in an old warehouse in central Wellington only 5 months ago. Our furniture and objects are sourced from all over New Zealand and are, without exception, both designed and made in New Zealand.

Exhibition opens on Thursday 20 November at 5pm. All welcome.
