The Nelson Arts Festival opens on October 13 with a huge masked parade and carnivale leading into a ten day programme of top NZ and Australian shows: theatre in heritage venues, dance, music, cabaret, talks, art exhibitions, a sculpture symposium in a city park, and a market day featuring the region's boutique wines and famed seafood.
