Murray Shaw was appointed as General Manager of the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra on Monday. Peter Biggs, Chair of Creative New Zealand said:
"Murray has been Chair of the Arts Board for almost three years and served as an Arts Council member for a year before that. His energetic and committed approach to his work with Creative New Zealand has meant that he has made a significant impact on our work and on the sectors we serve and he will be greatly missed.Murray Shaw was appointed as General Manager of the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra on Monday. Alastair Carruthers, a member of the Arts Board will be in the role of Deputy Chair, with all the powers and responsibilities of the Chair (as permitted within CNZ's legislation), until an appointment is made to that position by the Minister for the Arts, Helen Clarke.
