The Harvest Concert on Sunday, April 16th at Karikari Estate Vineyards from midday onwards, will star Moana & the Tribe supported by the N.Z Trio, Ensemble in Residence (University of Auckland.). This is a one-off performance by the Tribe and Trio, and will be the only public performance by Moana & the Tribe before they head back to Europe later on in July.The Harvest Concert on Sunday, April 16th at Karikari Estate Vineyards from midday onwards, will star Moana & the Tribe supported by the N.Z Trio, Ensemble in Residence (University of Auckland.). This is a one-off performance by the Tribe and Trio, and will be the only public performance by Moana & the Tribe before they head back to Europe later on in July.The trio is recently starred at the International Festival of Arts (Wellington), while Moana & the Tribe have returned from Moscow and London.

The bands CD 'Toru' and the DVD 'Live & Proud' will be released in the UK on March 20th, through Sony-BMG - a big coup for a local band. A review this week in the international world music bible, U.K-based publication 'Songlines' gave it a 4-star review.

The undisputed queen of Aotearoa soul.....Moana set the standard for slick, well produced and excitingly performed Polynesian music, laying the foundation for the recent exposure of NZ acts like Te Vaka, Fat Freddys Drop and Wai... Combining just the right mix of traditional content and contemporary urban groove, the latest incarnation of Moanas own band continues her successful pattern. A huge fusion of pop sensibilities, her R & B ballads feature close female harmonies and aggressive haka (male shouting) with plenty of bodyslapping percussion mixed into electronic beats - '

Moana will play on the bottom terrace in front of Karikari Estate Vineyards, as the sun sets with Great Exhibition Bay and the Pacific Ocean as a back drop. Picnics are encouraged, and excellent wine available. The afternoon includes a traditional blessing by Maori Archdeacon Timoti Flavell and a welcome by members of the Haititaimarangi Marae (haka), as well as a performance from a local band. Families are especially welcome.
