Kiwi psychological-thriller LUELLA MILLER, has just wrapped an intensive shoot in the southern Hawkes Bay. Writer/director Dane Giraud comments, "it's been a tough job, in the summer heat, but we had a fantastic location and thanks to the dedication of a talented crew, we've got what we need in the can. I couldn't be happier!" The editing process has already begun, and producer Robert Rowe hopes to have the film ready to premiere by the middle of the year.LUELLA MILLER is a psychological thriller, that Giraud and Rowe hope will "put the thrill back into the genre." It's the kind of film they have been wanting to make since the release of their last joint effort, THE WAITING PLACE. LUELLA MILLER tells the story of Lydia Anderson (Sara Wiseman), a generous yet lonely woman, who opens her door to Luella (Sia Trokenheim), an enigmatic stranger. Before her stay is over, both will wish that door had remained closed.

Lead actress Sara Wiseman (Mercy Peak), "absolutely rose to the challenge of this character," according to Giraud. Speaking from her car on the drive back to Auckland she was surprisingly "elated and energised" from the process, which she says she "enjoyed immensely." About the role, Wiseman says, "Dane [Giraud] likes to push his characters into those dark places most of us keep hidden. It's not every day an actor gets the opportunity to explore this aspect of the psyche, so I was intrigued with this story from the beginning."

Arkles Entertainment will distribute LUELLA MILLER throughout Australasia. The film stars: Sara Wiseman, Sia Trokenheim, Philip Brown, Alistair Browning, Jacqueline Nairn, Rod Lousich and Kevin J Wilson.
