New Zealand Arts Laureate Shona McCullagh's international award-winning films hurtle, fly and break screen in a dedicated showcase during Tempo Dance Festival on 6 October. All three films, which use dance as a narrative medium, have received international acclaim at A-list film festivals including Sundance, London Film Festival and the prestigious Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival in France.

Their accessibility to non-dance and dance audiences alike have contributed strongly to their interest and success.

During the showcase there will be a discussion session focussing on the process of taking an initial concept through to completed film. McCullagh's medium is dance and film, but these insights will be applicable to a wide range of arts and business.

Arguably New Zealand’s most versatile choreographer, McCullagh has created choreography for films such as Peter Jackson's Fellowship of the Ring and King Kong. She has also worked extensively in live theatre, most recently Sweet Charity with Auckland Theatre Company.

McCullagh is currently designing interactive installations for use in corporate events and in her own new full length work, Mondo Nuovo.
