Wellington actor Karl Urban, seen most recently in Out of the Blue, wants to play Kiwi World War II hero Charles Upham in an $18 million movie to be shot later this year, reports The Dominion Post.
"I am very interested in the Charles Upham film. When you think in terms of iconic Kiwi figures, Charles is right up there with Ed Hillary. He is such a complex, incredible character who gave so much, as did all the members of that generation that served," says Urban.
