Niuean artist, John Pule has many other strings to his bow - poet, novelist, and an interest in hiapo (Niuean bark cloth, similar to tapa cloth). His current body of work echoes the narrative hiapo designs of old, and a book by Pule and anthropologist Nicholas Thomas will be published next year.
