It's all about team

No project or event can come together without collaboration and there is an art to building and belonging to winning teams.

'Wearing the same shirts doesn't make you a team' - so say Buchholz and Roth, authors of Creating the High Performance Team. No project or event can come together without collaboration and there is an art to building and belonging to winning teams.

'Wearing the same shirts doesn't make you a team' - so say Buchholz and Roth, authors of Creating the High Performance Team. No project or event can come together without collaboration and there is an art to building and belonging to winning teams. So for the latest Generator we looked for someone who has built some great teams who have delivered brilliant projects - Mark Westerby.

His hot tips on building a winning team includes ‘have a shared belief system - something everyone believes in!’ and ‘remember that teamwork is an organic process and success can mean more than financial reward. Just make sure you enjoy the ride'...

Based on Mark’s research [and his not insignificant experience] he’s also developed some key exercises on leadership and teams. The first explores the five key attributes that will help you become the kind of leader people love working with and then asks the hard question - how do you stack up?

After that soul-searching, and once you’ve identified your dream team and sold them on your project, it’s time for that first team get-together. This sets the tone for how you can all work together. Mark has a great starting place in this exercise.

There’s plenty of other material about leadership and team building and we have shared what we’ve found in the resources.
