Exciting new New Zealand wine producer Invivo will serve its Invivo Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2008 at JLA Baxter gallery in Manhattan, New York for the launch reception of "Over/Under" featuring recent artworks by New York artists Eric Orr and Josh Goldstein, 6 November - 6 December 2008.

With three locations now in New York, JLA is expanding to two more in Los Angeles and London.

Invivo has aligned itself with the international art and designer fashion community - its unique label has been designed by New Zealand fashion house Zambesi.

Invivo has achieved considerable success with its Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. After only its first vintage, their Invivo Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2008 has won three prestigious medals: at the New Zealand International Wine Show, the International Aromatics, and the Australian Small Winemakers Competition.

About the Exhibition:

Acclaimed Bronx graffiti writer Eric Orr is best known for being one of the originators of icon graffiti in the early 1980s. His unique icon, 'Robot Head', was so named by pop artist Keith Haring with whom he collaborated on a number of projects.

Lately, Orr has focused on using MTA subway maps and authentic subway car signs, acquired directly from the transit system, as texture behind his iconic pictograms. He mounts these signs on canvas and mason boards, adding items often found in the stations, from metro cards to trash to the ever present advertising signs. His work creates a visual narrative of the NYC subway experience.

Orr's work is held in private collections in Europe, Asia-Pacific and North America. He has been featured in numerous exhibitions in art galleries on both coasts of the US and has given live painting exhibitions in North America and the Asia Pacific. In 2008, Orr toured New Zealand, inspiring creativity in children and young artists through workshops and collaborations in public places, taking in some of the best wine regions of the country.

Brooklyn artist Josh Goldstein captures New York City bodega and Coney Island signage, Chinese take-out menus, and other urban flotsam. He then blows the images apart and reconstructs them in his sculptural photo collages mounted on salvaged plywood. Inspired by the grit and decay of New York City, his work pays homage to the churning engine of the city.
