www.peterraegallery.co.nzA feature of emboss printing is that it is very subtle, requiring close engagement or even touch to gain information and this idea is exaggerated by including the printing plates on the floor for viewers to walk on. By prioritising touch, rather then sight, Taylor wants to encourage the viewers in engaging their whole bodies in the works and think about processes of printing and imprinting. This installation is a parallel to the Invisible Bridge exhibition held in Korea in 2003, with the support of Creative New Zealand, where audience members were invited to select a print and leave their email contact. People who select the same editioned print in Dunedin share a bond through the language of printmaking and further, will be invited to make email contact and so create bridges through globally interlaced space. Prints may be purchased by way of koha with proceeds being used to create a Travel Scholarship to support international exchanges for undergraduate students at the School of Art.
