This month we’re focusing on visual arts at The Big Idea, so we've gathered some opportunities for visual artists recently listed in our Jobs and Opportunities section.

Artists' Residency - The McCahon House Trust is calling for applications from professional artists for the McCahon House Artists’ Residency Programme 2012-2013. Three residencies, each of three months duration, are available between March 2012 and February 2013.

Sculpture proposals sought for Kaipara Coast - Artists are invited to submit proposals for exhibiting at the upcoming Exhibition 2012 at Kaipara Coast Sculpture Gardens opening 19th November 2011.

Crafters, stitchers and/or quilters - Running Stitch Productions is producing a short film called "Running Stitch". It's a story woven literally from quilts and they are looking for anyone with a passion for quilting or stitch-craft that might want to be involved.

Submissions Invited for Arthouse Installation - The Arthouse Installation Project, which started with huge success in November 2010, is now into its second year and is calling for artist submissions for the 2011/2012 installations.

Te Tuhi Youth Art Award - Te Tuhi Centre for the Arts is calling for submissions for 2011. The four finalists will receive $250 worth of art materials and a 3 day artist run workshop to develop a billboard based artwork. Each finalist will exhibit their billboard artwork at Te Tuhi Centre for the Arts.
